My mother returned from the United States in 2007. We hardly knew each other since she lived there for a long time. Since her return, the relationship was building up a bit strangely, we behaved like strangers.
In 2008 I received my first invitation to participate in the Paiz Art Biennale in Guatemala, where I presented two photographs: La Rendición and La Asunción.
My mother made each one of the costumes that appear in them; we had discovered a meeting point to relate to each other in a better way: working together. Our relationship improved a lot after that and to date we continue to collaborate on projects.
This animation is a representation of what working together has meant to me. That washing of the hands of guilt, forgiveness, cutting and joining again something that is broken. To repair and to be.
